The first group of eighteen Dhatu
In Pali
Aññhàrasa kho imà ànanda, 
        dhàtuyo: cakkhudhàtu råpadhàtu cakkhuvinnàõadhàtu,
        sotadhàtu saddadhàtu sotavinnàõadhàtu, 
        ghànadhàtu gandhadhàtu ghànavinnàõadhàtu,
        jãvhàdhàtu rasadhàtu jivhàvinnàõadhàtu 
        kàyadhàtu phoññhabbadhàtu kàyavinnàõadhàtu
        manodhàtu dhammadhàtu manovinnàõadhàtuti. 
        Imà kho ànanda, aññhàrasa dhàtuyo 
        yato
        jànàti passati, ettàvatàpi kho ànanda, 
        dhàtukusalo bhikkhåti alaü vacanàyàti.
      
The English Translation
Ananda, there are eighteen elements. They are the 
        elements of eye, forms and eye
        consciousness; ear, sounds, and ear consciousness; nose, scents and nose 
        consciousness;
        tongue, tastes and tongue consciousness; body, touches and body consciousness; 
        mind,
        ideas and mind consciousness. ânanda, these are the eighteen elements, 
        when the bhikkhu
        knows and sees them, he becomes clever in the elements
The second group of six Dhatu
In Pali
Siyà pana bhante, annopi pariyàyo yathà dhàtukusalo bhikkhåti alaü vacanàyàti.
        Siyà ànanda, chayimà ànanda, dhàtuyo: 
        pañhavãdhàtu àpodhàtu, tejodhàtu 
        vàyodhotu, àkàsadhàtu , vinnànadhàtu. 
        Imà kho ànanda, cha dhàtuyo yato jànàti 
        passati. Ettàvatàpi kho
        ànanda dhàtukusalo bhikkhåti alaü vacanàyàti.
The English Translation
Venerable sir, is there another method through which the bhikkhu becomes clever in the elements?
        There is a method. The bhikkhu becomes clever in the six elements, such 
        as the elements of earth, water, fire, air, space and consciousness ânanda, 
        these are the six elements, when the bhikkhu knows and sees them, saying 
        it rightly he becomes clever in the elements'.
The third group of six Dhatu
In Pali
Siyà pana bhante, annopi pariyàyo yathà 
        dhàtukusalo bhikkhåti alaü vacanàyàti.
        Siyà ànanda, chayimà ànanda, dhàtuyo: 
        sukhadhàtu, dukkhadhàtu, somanassadhàtu, domanassadhàtu, 
        upekkhàdhàtu, avijjàdhàtu. Imà kho 
        ànanda, cha dhàtuyo yato jànàti passati. Ettàvatàpi 
        kho ànanda, dhàtukusalo bhikkhåti alaü vacanàyàti
The English Translation
Venerable sir, is there another method through which the bhikkhu becomes clever in the elements?
        There is a method. These six are the elements of pleasantness, unpleasantness, 
        pleasure, displeasure, equanimity and ignorance, when the bhikkhu knows 
        and sees them, saying it rightly he becomes clever in the elements
The fourth group of six Dhatu
In Pali
Siyà pana bhante, a¤¤opi pariyàyo 
        yathà dhàtukusalo bhikkhåti alaü vacanàyàti.
      
Siyà ànanda, chayimà ànanda, dhàtuyo: kàmadhàtu nekkhammadhàtu vyàpàdadhàtu avyàpàdadhàtu vihinsàdhàtu avihinsàdhàtu imà kho ànanda, cha dhàtuyo yato jànàti passati. Ettàvatàpi kho ànanda, dhàtukusalo bhikkhåti alaü vacanàyàti
The English Translation
Venerable sir, is there another method through which the bhikkhu becomes clever in the elements?
        There is a method. These six are the elements of sensuality, non sensuality, 
        anger, non anger, hurting and non hurting, when the bhikkhu knows and 
        sees them, saying it rightly he becomes clever in the elementsû
The fifth group of three Dhatu
In Pali
Siyà pana bhante, annopi pariyàyo yathà dhàtukusalo bhikkhåti alaü vacanàyàti.
        Siyà ànanda, tisso imà ànanda, dhàtuyo: 
        kàmadhàtu rupadhàtu arupadhàtu. Imà 
        kho ànanda, tisso dhàtuyo yato jànàti passati. 
        Ettàvatàpi kho ànanda, dhàtukusalo bhikkhåti 
        alaü vacanàyàti.
The English Translation
Venerable sir, is there another method through which the bhikkhu becomes clever in the elements?
        There is a method. These three are the elements, of sensuality, materiality 
        and
        immateriality, when the bhikkhu knows and sees them, sayingit rightly 
        he becomes clever in the elements.
The sixth group of two Dhatu
In Pali
Siyà pana bhante, annopi pariyàyo yathà dhàtukusalo bhikkhåti alaü vacanàyàti.
        Siyà ànanda, dve imà ànanda, dhàtuyo: 
        sankhatà ca dhàtu asankhatà ca dhàtu. Imà 
        kho ànanda, dve dhàtuyo yato jànàti passati. 
        Ettàvatàpi kho ànanda, dhàtukusalo bhikkhåti 
        alaü vacanàyàti.
The English Translation
Venerable sir, is there another method through which the bhikkhu becomes clever in the elements?
        There is a method. These two are the elements, such as the compounded 
        and the
        uncompounded element. when the bhikkhu knows and sees them, saying it 
        rightly he becomes clever in the elements.û
